Why did you go down the franchise route? And why TaxAssist Accountants?
A partner at my previous place of work (a Chartered Accountancy firm) suggested TaxAssist when I was discussing options to start my own practice.
I did my research and heard only good things. I also met few existing franchises and got a very positive response.
What is a typical day for you as a franchisee?
My days involve meeting clients, working on different clients and reviewing staff work, all of which I find enjoyable.
What challenges have you faced?
Initially finding a suitable shop front location and later, finding suitable staff. There could have been challenges with software and technical issues, but these were very easily resolved with the help of the support staff in Norwich.
What have been the highlights of being a TaxAssist franchisee?
The brand name provides instant recognition and being a franchisee provides opportunities to implement planning and managerial skills.
What has the training and support from TaxAssist Accountants been like?
The training and support have been very beneficial every step of the way. Tax is an ocean and I believe continued technical support plus training and support is essential in today’s competitive environment.
Has becoming a franchisee changed your life, if so, how?
Yes, in a very positive manner. I have my own business and feel content, with room for further growth.
In your opinion, what differentiates TaxAssist from the competition?
Very friendly and competent staff at the Support Centre and the successful brand name.
How has being a part of the franchise helped you to grow your practice?
The TaxAssist brand name attracts a lot of clients into the shop and is also a constant source of online leads which is extremely helpful for business growth. Technical and other support services such as training are also an essential part of growth.
What is the most invaluable piece of advice you could give someone looking to buy a TaxAssist Accountants franchise?
TaxAssist is a successful brand, and they know how to achieve success. They have proven this hundreds of times through the hundreds of successful franchisees. If you follow the franchise model, then this should lead to success.
Having said this, you must keep in mind that it requires discipline and the only route to success is continuous hard work to ensure you achieve the associated benefits.
TaxAssist puts you on the right track and also helps maintain the right direction for the business.
What are your plans for the future?
I am planning to open a second shop front before the end of 2024.
